about brooke hardman

brooke hardman ditchfieldbrooke hardman is the artistic director and events manager of artfarm enterprises, which she co-founded in 2009 with her husband and long time collaborating partner brian ditchfield. as an actress, she has worked extensively across the country, appearing on the stages of steppenwolf, williamstown theatre festival, the huntington theatre, writer’s theatre, montana shakespeare in the parks, the next theatre, and the new repertory theatre among many others. brooke was an artist-in-residence at the court theatre in chicago for three seasons and was also a regularly featured stilt walker with redmoon theatre company.  brooke holds a bfa in acting from boston university’s school for the arts and has trained with chicago shakespeare theatre and shakespeare & company.
brooke is also a founding member of shack productions, an independent film company that has produced a nationally distributed feature film, a feature documentary film, and several award winning short films. she has taught acting, music, and shakespeare everywhere from chicago’s south side, to rural montana, to london, england.
since moving to the island of martha’s vineyard in 2007, brooke has frequently appeared both on stage and behind the scenes at the vineyard playhouse, and has collaborated on various theatrical projects with community members including the popular “shakespeare for the masses” series. brooke also works closely with the martha's vineyard film festival, serving as their production coordinator.
it was through these collaborative projects and her cumulative experience in professional theatre that brooke began to think about a new way of funding, producing, and supporting the arts.  and so, artfarm enterprises was born.  brooke looks forward to continuing the advancement of the performing arts on martha’s vineyard and developing a new, sustainable model for artists and communities everywhere.
